Care and cleaning

Caring for 304 stainless steel fits in one line: soapy water, then a dry cloth. The rest is small habits that depend on the finish.

Everyday cleaning

  • Warm water and a drop of dish soap is enough.
  • Always wipe a brushed surface along the grain; wiping across it leaves fine marks.
  • Use a microfibre cloth on mirror surfaces and never wipe them dry — dust behaves like grit.
  • Dry the piece after washing. A drop left to evaporate leaves a limescale mark.

What to avoid

  • Bleach and chlorine-based cleaners.
  • Steel wool, scouring pads and abrasive creams.
  • Leaving carbon-steel knives, pans or wool on the surface: the dust they shed eventually marks it.
  • Salt, lemon and vinegar left sitting for long periods.

Dishwasher

Every object is dishwasher-safe. We still suggest drying them at the end of the cycle so salt and limescale leave no trace.

Stains and marks

  • Water and limescale: one part white vinegar to five parts water, soft cloth, rinse, dry.
  • Grease and fingerprints: soapy water; glass cleaner also works on mirror surfaces.
  • Candle wax: ten minutes in the freezer and the hardened wax lifts off with a fingernail.
  • Light scratches (brushed): pass a very fine abrasive sponge along the grain a few times with light pressure.

Renewal at the workshop
